Overnight Connie woke suddenly gasping from a vision. In the vision she saw the blue light touch many things, not just people, but objects. She saw a man walking down the sidewalk get hit with the light, he stumbled, and then kept on walking as if nothing had happened. It is possible that the effects of the blue light are not immediate, maybe they need a traumatic event to trigger or jump start the effects.
On the boat Carter examines Connie’s gem, nothing happens. Tony held onto both gems and he found that he gained all the powers temporarily. Mina held the gems and wished for the ability to fly, hey it could hurt to try! Marcus tried to do a ritual with them, but the boat hit a wave and the gem tumbled to the deck of the boat. All seven team members rush to try and grab it before it is lost. Connie gets the gem back and tries to see if she can call it to her, no luck.
Back in America
The group calls Scooter and Bobbie to tell them about their adventure, just leaving out the part where Tony and Connie gained supernatural powers. Bobbie thinks we are igits for opening the box, scooter probably concurs but was nicer about it. A few of the group “works” to make some side cash while others rest, research, and try to figure out what to do next. Cal and Tony discussed surgery needed to implant Tony’s gem in him so he is not a danger to the team or others. Even with the surgery Cal encouraged Tony to “eat” periodically as to curb the effects of the gem if he were to ever lose it or become detached from it.
Suddenly Connie’s eyes go white and her nose starts to bleed. She is having a vision. Once it is over she draws out what she saw. A translucent human skull, anatomically correct. Carter and Cal immediately jump on the internet and start doing research. Connie feels this vision was weird because she usually only has visions at night when sleeping, this is the first one she has had while awake. Maybe a side effect of the blue light being released. Connie would like to try and induce a vision and Cal has recommended African dream root, Connie decides to get high instead.
Some more time passes while the team is regrouping, Connie buys a body belt for her gem for safe keeping, Cal made a fake gem. Carter and Mina decide that they need to plan a trip to New Orleans and get ethnically turnt (aka drunk). Bobbie calls the group back and the Hunter spend a week getting trained by him. He provides them with some hunter info on sirens, arachne, and ghouls, and the instructions for a dream walking potion.
Connie’s Dream Sleep
Carter, Mina, and Marcus volunteer to follow Connie in her dream. Bobbie paints a symbol on each of their arms and explains that this is their anchor, all they have to do to get out of the dream is break the symbol. Connie gets some more instruction from Bobbie, drinks the tea, and falls asleep. Min, Carter, and Marcus do the same.
Connie wakes up in her parents’ home, but it is in the past, when she was a teenager, right around the time of her suicide attempt. Connie was the youngest of three children in a family with very high expectations for their children. Connie is looking around her room, reminiscing about her past. Her father comes in and is super angry about her grades and is berating her. Carter, Mina and Marcus arrive in Connie’s neighborhood, Carter recognizes the neighborhood and leads the other two towards Connie’s home. While trying to find the house, they try talking to people but are unable to. Finally they find the home. Marcus police knocks on the front door. Connie’s father answers very suspicious of the three. Marcus tells some BS story about a school incident and needs to talk to Connie. Her father knows he is lying but calls for her anyways. Connie comes out a crying mess and is only 15 years old. Her father refuses to let them talk to her alone, finally calling Marcus on his bullshit, he begins to close the door on the group. Marcus tazzes Connie’s father. At this point scared young Connie runs off to the kitchen. Carter begins to verbally accost her dad while Mina sneaks around the back of the house and enters in to the kitchen to find Connie with a knife. Before Mina can get to her she slashes her arm and falls to the ground. Mina grabs a towel from the counter and applies pressure, while calling for help. Mine looks Connie in the eye and tells her this is a dream, you are not 15 anymore. Connie begins to chant this. “I’m not 15, I’m not 15, I’m not 15, I’m not 15, I’m not 15, I’m not 15.
Outside the house the windows go black, not like the sun has set but like there is no longer anything out there, nothing. They see a small beam of light outside the door, the light is growing and getting bigger as time passes. Slowly items in the house begin to shake, then the whole house begins to tremble. Windows crack and break, walls start splitting. The light is getting bigger. The house walls seem to be bending. Connie walks towards the light, she steps out into the darkness and then she is gone. Mina and Carter grasp hands and jump in after her, Marcus follows.
Connie is falling, the light is now getting smaller so she refocuses. Her fall is slowing down and then the light has encompassed all of them. They are hovering over spheres with images in them. They seem to be memories. Below them is a black liquid, Connie reaches out to touch it and it ripples. “who wants to go swimming?” Mina and Carter yell together and enthusiastic “Fuck yeah!” and they all jump in together.
Once through they find more spheres, the spheres with visions in them look slightly more different than regular memories. They begin looking for the vision with the skulls. Mina finds it and passes it to Connie. It’s kind of like a gel bubble. They all decide to poke it at the same time. Turns out it is a portal. The four are transported to a black space, Connie has a fixed stare and is radiating a blue aura. A skull is in the middle of this room. The room starts to illuminate. They all walk towards the skull and touch it at the same time. They are able to see that the skull is in a box surrounded by rubble, there are vines, and dirt caved in all around. They can now see the place the box is and it’s a rain forest, farther out it’s South America.
Connie’s eyes go white she is having a vision but no new bubble appears. They all break their anchors. Back at Bobbie’s Connie comes to and has psychosomatic bruising on her arm. Carter does some more internet research based on what they saw in the dream walk. The group determines that they need to find this skull and to do they have to go to the Amazon. Scooter assists with getting passports for everyone, we want to do this as above board as possible for as long as possible. We buy supplies and spend a little more time making some money to help fund this next trip.
